On October 7th I signed up for my first market! Saying I am nervous is an understatement! After I signed up I started making a list of what I should make and what I would need in order to have a booth set up. My husband and I started slowly buying tables, chairs, displays, money box, and more. There is a lot that goes into it! I started making plushies and honestly every pattern I tried was just not working for me. Even patterns I have made in the past. I was starting to feel so overwhelmed and like a failure. I was seeing so many other crocheters market prep and creating all these super cute plushies, and I was still at square one. I was really starting to lose my focus.
I took some time off from my Instagram profile and redirected my focus. I was focusing so much on what others were making that I was losing confidence in my own abilities. I had to start telling myself that I'm not doing this for them, or even for my followers. I'm doing this for my kids! I want them to get an education in a peaceful and loving environment. After I got my focus back on track I have been able to start making plushies again! It's amazing how God works. He doesn't let things always work in your favor if your focus isn't on Him and being humble. I don't have to be like every other crocheter out there. I don't need to try to impress other crocheters. I need to focus on my abilities and trust God that He is going to bless my business and family in His timing.
On November 12th and 13th I will be at my first market and I am going there not expecting to sell out or even sell half of what I bring. I will take this as a learning experience for my business and time with my husband. Wish me luck!
